McAuley FL Lifts, Ballymoney

 McAuley FL Lifts, part of McAuley Engineering, manufactures high-quality tail lifts for emergency vehicles. Our products help healthcare teams move patients safely and efficiently. We are looking for a skilled assembly technician to build sub-assemblies, platforms and mechanical assemblies for our tail lift systems. This role involves precise assembly of pre-made components — no welding or fabrication is required.

The Role

You will be responsible for assembling the aluminium platforms and mechanical parts that form our tail lift systems. The work is hands-on, detailed, and requires following engineering drawings and build instructions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assembling aluminium platforms and frames
  • General mechanical assembly functions such as drilling, tapping, cutting, riveting and bolting
  • Fitting hydraulic and mechanical components during final assembly
  • Checking build quality, fit, and functionality
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone with a practical, hands-on approach and attention to detail.

Ideal background:

  • Vehicle mechanics or fitters
  • Vehicle conversions or body building
  • Mechanical fitting or assembly
  • Coachbuilding
  • Skilled tradespeople with good mechanical ability

Skills and attributes:

  • Comfortable working from drawings and instructions
  • Good workshop skills and tool experience
  • Reliable, accurate, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Desirable:

  • Basic hydraulic or electrical experience, but not essential.

  • Competitive pay (based on experience)
  • 4-day working week – Monday to Thursday, 7am–5pm

Pay Range:

Based on experience  £13.50–£14.85 per hour.
